HTML5 Javascript APIs Series


This series will cover most, if not all of the [current] Javascript APIs in HTML5. By that I mean that I'll introduce the API, explain what it is, what problem(s) it solves, how to use it, and some sort of example app to demonstrate it.

This series is for the programmer that wants to go beyond Notepad. There is a big difference between the mere coder, and the veteran software engineer. And this difference goes beyond years of experience or salary. A seasoned developer knows his tools, and knows them well. What good is having the best sports car in the world, if you don't know how to turn it on?!

Advanced PHP Tutorial Series


This series will cover some topics in web development that most beginners would not benefit too much from until they are comfortable with the basics. While the focus of this advanced series of tutorials will be PHP, much of the material will be supplemented by and with Javascript, HTML, CSS, and some other technologies surrounding those languages. The target audience is the at least somewhat experienced web developer and designer looking to improving on their skills, and building on their existing knowledge.

This series goes over various topics about software engineering. Its intended audience is the novice programmer wanting to improve on his or her basic knowledge and skills. The topics range from very common for a novice programmer, to slightly more advanced, to very popular, yet misunderstood topics.

A series focusing on the why and how to create a development environment separate from the deployment environment. Here you'll be walked through the installation of various industry standard open-source tools and technologies, such as Apache, PHP, MySQL, GIT, SVN, Ant, Eclipse, NetBeans, Pear, creating virtual hosts, etc.
